Firesafe has introduced a ‘real voice’ tobacco detector designed to help organisations to prevent smoking on their premises in line with Englands new no-smoking laws.
Once the new ZSSD9 device detects any type of tobacco smoke, it emits a ‘real voice’ warning message requesting all smoking material be extinguished immediately.
This not only deters smokers and any potential confrontation but demonstrates duty of care and due diligence and helps safeguard against fines for failure to prevent smoking in a smoke free place.
Part of Firesafe’s ZoneSafe range, the ZSSD9 is wall or ceiling mountable and powered by a 9v battery. It has a ‘real voice’ low battery warning feature and a typical lifespan of 3 years or 5000 activations.
The company says the device is particularly suited to out of the way areas like washrooms and entrance areas that may prove difficult to police with staff.
